Re: Status to official release

I'm having the same problem as Corbo on Firefox, and I'm pretty sure Corbo is using IE.

420,000.00% sure.

X_X

The web developer in me died a little.

As for the centering issue, add
  Code:
align="center"
to your table tag, and remove the unnecessary div surrounding it.

Older versions of IE will incorrectly center it.

Alternatively, let me whip up a page that follows the W3C HTML 4.01 spec.

Lol, epic fail. Fixed. This code is only temporary, to show my layout intentions. It'll be PHP later on, when it fetches data from the wiki.

Re: Status to official release

Day 15 (Jun 17): I thought I made this post yesterday, but I guess that's when my internet went down, so it never got through. In any case, at least the result of my work was clearly visible: new forum icons!

Day 16 (Jun 18): Internet is finally fixed after 28 hours. Yesterday, it went down. I took my dog out for a walk, and saw two Cox Communications trucks out behind my apartment building with two guys working on the cable box. Obviously, that's why it was down. After about an hour, we ask what's up, and they say they just turned it back on. Well, que them driving away while we test, and find the internet is still not working. Maybe it just takes some time to reconnect? We shut down the modem while we go out to Costco. Five hours later, it's still down. We call Cox, they have us go through their mundane modem reboot (yeah, we already did this, but we'll humor you, Cox). They schedule up a work order. Fast forward to today. Apparently we weren't the only ones who called (jee, wonder why) and there were three trucks out there to fix it. Just... wow. You'd think between the first two guys they would've had half a brain to do the job right in the first place, even after we went out and told them it wasn't working. *grumble*

Front page has been updated slightly. Just a quick redo of the button sizes so the dimensions are balanced, and CREATE is now CRAFT for further visual balance and a tie-in to our namesake.

With deep thanks to Poiuy_Qwert, the Wiki's Iscript, PyAI, and SCAIEdit syntax highlighting has been updated, adding missing things and fixing duplicates. A new highlighter script has also been made for triggers (PyTRG).

Re: Status to official release

Day 17 (Jun 19): New Glossary wiki extension added. Acronyms added to the Glossary page will function like an automated tip BBcode on all wiki pages. This handy tool allows us the convenience of technical terms without losing the unfamiliar, without needing to hyperlink everything to new pages. Because it's automated, you don't even have to think about it while writing your articles or fumble with clumsy code.

I also tried adding a couple category-related extensions, but they didn't quite work as expected. The first would have allowed you to select from a list of all existing categories while editing a page, so you can easily add it to a consistent category. However, while it did display this list, it is apparently outdated and two error messages are displayed at the top of the edit page. The second extension would have allowed formatting of categories in different ways, instead of the default alphabetized list. The extension had some effect, so it was working, but none of the code displayed what it should have, resulting in garbled link lists. Clearly, another extension behind the times. Both have been commented out for now.

In other news, Poiuy Qwert sent me an initial layout for the website. So far things are looking awesome!

Re: Status to official release

Day 18 (Jun 20): New Gallery extension added to the wiki. This lets you create a slideshow of multiple images, smoothly transitioning to the next image either by user interaction or timed automation. There is currently a bug where anything after a gallery is not displayed, so right now it can only be used at the bottom of a page. Looking into fixing this problem.

Web development continues. PQ is doing an excellent job.

Re: Status to official release

Day 20 (Jun 22): The above picture is the finalized layout. We'll probably add some additional subtle effects, like shadowing on inactive tabs, but by and large the above is what you'll see soon. PQ has finished code cleanup, and we're working on the PHP backend (such as fetching news data from the news forum) and the design for the other pages.

Tomorrow will be the mark of three weeks since the idea for Modcrafters was sparked.

Day 22 (Jun 24): Website's sub-tabs now highlight when moused-over. Backend coding done to support custom BBcodes in news posts.

Day 23 (Jun 25): Topic title of last post now displayed on forum index.

Thank god.

On another note, the new logo on the main page doesn't look like it was resized properly...

Something tasty is coming up...

As for the site logo, yeah, it's just a beaten and stretched forum logo.
