Re: Status to official release

:P

Day 11 (Jun 13): So there I am, I've got Subversion installed, TortoiseSVN installed, and I am trying to wrap my sleep-fogged brain around it all at 4am. Somehow I needed Tortoise to interact with Subversion, and Subversion to then modify the wiki. At that time, I felt a warm liquid dripping from my ears and staining the carpet a crimson hue. The documentation was not written for the naive. Then, while browsing through my host's web panel, guess what I spied? "Upgrade your wiki to 1.15 automatically!"

W. T. F. ...yes, after all that pain and trouble, I found I had only been flailing futilely. *sigh* The wiki is up, but hold off registering. I'm researching extensions, one of which involves utilizing the phpBB member database for its wiki userlist.

Re: Status to official release

So far, the extension has worked exactly as advertised. I have added a link to the wiki under the Support category on the forum index. Currently the link is only visible to members. An explanation is provided on how things are set up.

Re: Status to official release

You log in with the same username and password as your forum account. The wiki now refers to the forum's user database instead of using its own. A member must belong to a special usergroup in order to log into the wiki, however. This usergroup is titled "Scribes", and serves as a handy membership control. Right now, the group is closed, meaning I must manually add anyone wishing to contribute to the wiki, but I can set it to "Request" and therefore able to take in requests to join, or "Open" allowing anyone to join freely.

Day 11 (Jun 13) Continued: In other news, I obtained permission from Broodkiller and DiscipleofAdun to move Starcraft: Unravelled (SCU) to Modcrafters. I have finished exporting and importing all significant pages to our wiki.

That is great since I was going to work on SCU as well.

Can I get invited so I can start by adding my old tutorials.

Now *that* is something. I would love to be a "scribe" for the wiki, gotta help add meat to that bone.

Nevermind, it said I'm already a member of the group.
Also, you will be skinning the wiki as well, right?

Now that's certainly one good idea from Corbz.

Day 12 (Jun 14): Wiki version of the logo made.

As for skinning the wiki, the website will present the wiki in its own skin, while the backend I was considering leaving as the default Monobook.

Day 13 (Jun15): Many new wiki extensions added, such as a WYSIWYG editor, syntax highlighter, tree menus, internal page tabs, and breadcrumbs. New forum logo made (not pixellated, a bit shinier). Poiuy_Qwert has coded a new syntax highligher script for Iscript.

Day 14 (Jun 16): Working on frontend...

Re: Status to official release

Front page now features (non-working) buttons! These aren't final images, and none of the pages have anything, but you can see what I'm planning for content sorting. My aim is simple keywords targeting a visitor's intentions. Each section will thereby be tailored to that need.

I'm thinking of changing "Create" to "Craft", so it ties into our name and is only 5 letters (which would create a balance of 4, 5, 5, 4).
