[FEEDBACK] 3D Ship Model

I have recently decided to try to learn modeling. Here's a practice model I made in about half an hour. Can I have some feedback on it please?

It needs more features and the engines would definitely prove to slow the aircraft down as it travelled due to drag. Ships should have a small notion of physics associated with them >.>

And try to texture next time, or at least don't have a wireframe on it.

What program do you use now? Or, do you still use Wings?

It has a strange concept and doesn't appear to have good proportions. I thought that the curves were cool, butif you used auto-smooth, then that's cheating!

I agree with Mesk, it DOES look like a penis creamed by a tank, indeed. Give it a smaller beak, bigger wings and smaller engines and see how that turns out.
Clean...simple...devious. I like it.

I suggest you use a program like Sketchup until you dish out the cash. It's actually an excellent program.

Don't want to start a new thread, so can you tell me what you think of this? Image

Event though I never used Sketchup... it was on a Maximum PC magazine's CD (i think...), it is free and if its on that magazine's CD, then it has to be useful.

simple and clean, yet I know games like Star Fox 64 (really old game on Nintendo 64, if you couldn't guess) used simple stuff too.

TZ: I hope you are not trying to put that huge d**k model on StarCraft; i've seen enough on one site's forum post of someone in a UMS drawing map made (drew) a "d*ck"

Try making a star wars ship, something like the rebel cruiser in the opening scene of a new hope. Copying people means you don't have (no offence) meh ship ideas.

LOOKS LIKE A PENIS VERTICALLY SPLIT IN HALF THAT'S ROTTING

It looks formless and without concept. Its appearance does not convey spirit and effort. The perspective and position from which the camera is of the screenshot doesn't help make it look better. I think it would look better without the skin and without any smoothing effects. From here, it looks like it could be given a more menacing appearance if it were elongated and the auxiliary pod-thangs were given a sharper and more defined look. The key-things at the front should have its features exaggerated such that the centre spikes' curves were given a greater compression and length. The cannon barrels[?] above and below the two spike things should be elongated, such that they are half the length of the spike itself.

Definitely turn off the smoothing, and then lrn2bumpmap the non-smooth result with details.

Don't really like the 'wings' or guns or whatever they are.Imagine a sort of valk wings on it that sit above those things coming off the sides, spanning the length of the mid section. Hell even just chopping those things off would probably make it look better.
